  1. I like “The Tempest”, because even it is a comedy with elements of a fairy tale, it nourishes mind, makes our brains working and also teaches some important moral lessons. The play touches upon many themes like relations between a master and a servant, the supernatural, revenge, seclusion and freedom, compassion and forgiveness, loyalty and betrayal, etc. The language of the play is really poetic and musical; there are lots of metaphors, comparisons, epithets, etc. I think, “The Tempest” teaches us that no matter what happened to you, it is necessary to find the ability not to do the same to people who hurt you, but to forgive them, because revenge cannot be the best solution in any case. By overcoming your anger with compassion and forgiveness, you can receive a lot more (to your soul) than by taking on revenge.

  2. On the whole I liked the play, although it was a bit difficult to perceive it because of the language. Shakespeare’s language is specific, and not only because it is out-of-date, but because this play, in certain sense, is a reflection of his inner world. Besides, I'm a little bit amazed that the whole play took place in one area (on the island), in a very short period of time. And during this short period of time Shakespeare could convey its essence. i.e. the main idea of the play - “to understand and forgive is the man’s lot.”

  3. As I have expected the play impressed me, so Shakespeare could not write something what did not engage people’s attention. It is based on interesting themes, storylines and characters. The language of the play made me understand that I was reading the piece of medieval literature not only because of different words but because of the style of writing. The characters spoke good language, and that one more characteristic of that literature and time. The theme of forgiveness came by the end of the play and for me it is the main one. Shakespeare conveyed the idea that the life with permanent desire of revenge can lead to nothing thought forgiveness gave you freedom. All in all, I would like to say that this play is a thought-provoking one containing an important main idea and beautiful language.

  4. I was impressed deeply by this play.Reading any one of Shakespeare's plays can feel like reading a long poem and that's because they're written in a combination of poetry and prose. The nobility and other important figures tend to speak in "blank verse," which is a formal way to talk. The commoners, or "everyday Joes," tend to speak just like we do, in regular old prose. However, in The Tempest, Shakespeare does something a little bit different. Prospero's slave, Caliban, speaks prose (especially when he's cursing at Prospero), but he also speaks a lot of verse, which makes sense since Prospero taught him to talk. I shall laugh myself to death at this puppy-headed monster. So, I like the story because its language and the way of writing.

  5. The play impressed me greatly, as I had expected. I think that it is a brilliant example of how the play may not only entertain but also performs another equally important function – educational one. It goes without saying that these two aspects are must have for every respectable play. Shakespeare is undoubtedly a professional in mixing of different styles as we see a comedy, fairy tale and tragedy at the same time. We may easily perceive and feel the main themes which are touched by the playwright. The language of the play occupies a special place as it is an integral part of the play and in spite of the fact that sometimes it’s rather difficult to understand, the language of Shakespeare’s time helps us to feel deeply the atmosphere of that time and all emotions and feelings of the main characters.

  6. My post here can't be accomplished without our visit to the theater, and I can't give you the full idea and impression of this play, because Shakespeare wrote this masterpiece to be seen on the stage "online", live, to get the vivid impression looking on the acting process. But, nevertheless I should tell you some words about "The Tempest" . I haven't even heard anything about this play before its' introduction during the week class. The play was closed with a purple curtain of gloom and wasn't popular and famous for a long period of time - about 200 years of an extreme variability or even the full abandonment. But the time has come and the world finally have to accept the fact, that the planet Earth is turning, the sins and vices of a human race vices are constant and unchanging - and this play is a good example of such world. The world of love and betrayal , dirty tricks and enslavement of body and soul, the game of wishes and desires .I don't want to dramatically dig some holes inside the ground of this play to work with some stones of every dialogue and conflict , because this is a great planet with its satellites and I just want to see them with my own eyes.
