  5. Undoubtedly, we are living in the age of terror. Probably someone doesn’t agree with me, because nowadays we are faced with the mass terrorist attacks only few times a year (however I think it’s enough). Nowadays for the most of people the notion ”terrorism” is connected with Islam, and I see more and more examples that people don’t see any difference between Muslims and Islamists. So, people often think – a bomb was put in action by the Muslim, so it was the terrorism, but if the killer of tens of victims was a white man, it was just the madman, not the terrorist attack, just the accident. However, the terrorism doesn’t have a race, a religion, or nation – it is an international “infection” which is spreading very quickly. Our world society is going to seed thus becoming the good opportunity for the development of terrorism. We should define the term “terrorism” to understand whether we are living in the age of terrorism. Almost all people around the world know this notion, but it has different meanings for different people. As we see from the film, it is the way for liberation for some people. For the first few minutes of this film, I couldn’t understand who those people were and then I was shocked to find out they were terrorists! They were talking so calmly about their “brave” deeds thus making me think of how people may be different in their opinions and perception of life. For me terrorism is a systematic use of terror and violence, it doesn’t matter against one or 1000 people. Violence is an integral part of our modern society, and it’s only (or it’s better to say easiest) way to achieve their goals for many people. It was caused by the imperfection of the economic, political systems, social infrastructures, repression and bureaucracy. Now it is vicious circle, so we will be born in the age of terrorism, live in the age of terrorism, and die in the age of terrorism. It’s not question whether this era is called the era of terrorism or not, the question is how long it will last until it’ll kill itself.

  6. I think, we can call terrorism as plague of the 21st century, as its roots date to ancient times, and since that period it just has changed its meaning, goals (for many people terrorism is the fight for their nations, their liberty; while others consider terrorism as a way of solving such problems, as political and religious) and means of their achieving. Since the 20th century the number of terrorist attacks has been growing, growing cruelty, growing number of victims; each next terrorist attack is always scarier than the previous one. I don't think that mankind will be able to overcome, to eradicate terrorism, because terrorism is a reaction of the society, and in our rapidly changing world, where every day something happens, not all have equal attitude towards this "something".

  8. The effects of terrorism had negative health consequences and loss of life, economic loss to the country, and loss of peace in the world, increasing gaps between people. It has great effect to transportation & communication in the affected countries, price rise. Terrorism inevitably causes environmental pollution effects, many of them serious. It can also be directed against resources such as freshwater, oil, or agricultural products
In the conclusion, I cannot but say about the most renowned acts of terrorism of our times. The attacks of September 11 have become the most famous acts of terror ever perpetrated.
Unfortunately, today terrorism is acquiring new forms. Indeed, terrorism has become more violent for the last 100 years. It has developed from anarchists' assassinations to hijackings and suicide bombings. I suppose, governments from all over the world should try to do everything to prevent it.

  9. I think that, yes, we live in the age of terror. Just remember September 11, the hostage crisis in the Beslan school, 7 July London bombings, etc. And there is no end to it. Terrorists know no measure in their crime. Thousands of people can die during one terrorist attack.Terrorist attack innocent civilians with the purpose of demonstrating that the state is incapable of protecting ots own people. So the main aim of any terrorist attack, I suppose, is political one. They think that through violence they can transform the political landscape in a beneficial way. But all these things just prevent economic development, provide justification for official violence (like tortures in prisons), and lead to repression.....All in all, I think it is difficult to change this situation until some countries and their governments stop playing double and intruding into other countries' own affairs and when social disruption and bureaucracy will be reduced...

  10. Terrorism appeared some centuries ago but every year it became more and more spread. In 20th century many terrorist attacks took place but the beginning of 21th century showed that it was only start of modern terrorism. 12 years involves lots of suicide attack, hijacking, bombing, and so on. All of these are around us. We are living in the age of terror because every day we hear about new and new terrorist attacks. Nowadays you can not be sure that in the shop you are going everything alright and nobody wants to blow it up. To change the situation it is necessary to unite the power of all countries, nations and ethnical groups and stop the era of terrorism, otherwise innocent people, who will come in a wrong place at a wrong time, will continue to die.

  11. Terrorism is the greatest of evils in today's world. Actually it is an age-old problem with no easy solutions. Almost no week goes by without an act of terrorism taking place somewhere in the world, affecting innocent people who just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. As most of terrorist groups are secretive by nature, it hard to measure the number of terrorist attacks worldwide. The consequences of any terror act are creepy. Children die before they are fully adults, adults die years before their time... The threat of terrorism must be kept in perspective. We cannot keep on underestimating the actual harm terrorism causes worldwide.

  12. "Are we really living in the age of terror?" This is the question which is under discussion, but it will be difficult to answer it in a correct way, but I will do all my best to find the truth.
As we see, the film reports us about three main stages of the terrorism of the 20th century:
    1. Jerusalem - Israel and their "Irgu" organization
    2. Algeria and their "F. L. N." organization and "IRA"
    3. Ireland
That time word terrorism was new to news. If terrorist succeed in making assassination the whole world would notice. For example "King David Hotel" and its explosion. It was devastating act. As a rule there were many innocent civilian: 99 dead, 28 of them were British, who were main targets (the assassination was for them, as we could say so). But there were also civilian, who had been police informers. So they deserved the death concerning terrorist opinion. The target of assassination was to make chaos in a society. The former terrorist said that it had been their desire to have liberty of their countries. That was why they attacked convoys of foreign visitors, who teach them everything: how to use weapon. They said that the government had been the violence. Espacially if the country had been ivated by foreigners. By the way, terrorist were very clever people. For example they used women as a messenger of bombs to places which had been under very high level control. Terrorist believes that it's a solution to solve problems, but it is not. Also terrorist used to parking a car with a bob. But there were lots of street workers who died. It's a tendency today to call former terrorists prisoners of wars. But they never archive political objectives at all. It was only their ideas, but when business with BIG money comes it's not an idea any more, it starts to become a business and their favorite game - hide-and seek is finished.
To sum it up I’d like to say that we can’t really determine who these people on the video are:
    1. former terrorist
    or
    2. Prisoners of war who were fighting for their countries against foreign invasion
It’s a question which doesn’t need any answer. Personally I think that these people did that because of the idea, as they thought it was a correct way, but it wasn’t as it was the way of violence. And also they went out of the game when it became a business.

  13. Terrorism is an evil, and we, ordinary members of society, can hardly solve this problem in one day. But in fact the same way we can not do anything with the accidents and plane crashes, tsunamis and earthquakes and somehow we live with this. We believe that living at the age of terrorism means to realistically assess the danger without falling into a panic and paranoia.
