What do you think about it? Is it convincing and fact-based? What did it make you think about?
I like this film as a whole because it has helped me to broaden my horizon and improve my knowledge in this issue..Frankly speaking, it’s difficult for me to judge whether this documental film is good or not, however, it contains much information based on well-known and proved facts, so I tend to believe it…The problem of the record of climatic events and their glacial maximum or minimum is raised here and nowadays we see more and more proves of the many scientists’ predictions. The evidence used in climate change research includes more than just direct observations. Although there are a lot of opposite opinions about this matter and what is really going on with our planet, but there is no doubt that some environmental changes are really happening. I tend to explain it by the global warming, because everything is in connection and we depend on this natural law. Probably this film is convincing in some way, but I believe I’ll be able to find out it later, comparing with other films and articles.

I've recently seen this movie and i have mixed feelings, because it makes me think about the global problems. And I'm schocked because this issue hasn't touched me personally before. The film presents bright pictures of our ''ill'' nature.Climate change is a complex phenomenon, and its full-scale impacts are hard to predict far in advance. But each year scientists learn more about how climate change is affecting the planet and our communities, and most agree that certain consequences are likely to occur if current trends continue.

Such films always make me think about the Earth at all. The history of our planet includes millions years of unstoppable evolution, but the appearing of humanity is the critical step in the development of the Earth. We can change our nature and the nature can change us, we study the nature and the nature can study us, we often give our nature mortal backstabs and nature will punch us with whole its power. After thousands of different researches of nature, the study of its the laws (physics, chemistry, and all different close sciences, our Earth is still a great mystery of the universe. Slowly, it gives us a sign, it hints us, that it can get tired or get sick too, as common people - and it shows it through various natural disasters, climate change, plate tectonics.

I liked the film because it helps people to evaluate the real threat of the problem. We all know that global warming is increasing because more and more gases get into the atmosphere. It is not far a secret, that global warming is already affecting the world, endangering polar bears, shortening ski seasons and creating more intense storms. What can we do to fight this problem? I think we need to use more alternative energy, like sunlight, wind power or wave power. Thus we could save energy as well as money and fight global warming! I also think it is the very time for humans to think of the future as global warming is too serious for the world any longer to ignore.

This movie made me think what we really know or should know about global warming. The answer is simple - we know everything: the reasons for the emergence of a global catastrophe and the ways of its solution. There is just one shag: we don't know how to embody this solution. So speaking about the causes of global warming, I’ve figured out three of them in the film. The first is a natural process, where there is no any reason for the catastrophe, where global warming is a natural process (in its history our planet has undergone several such catastrophes). The second one is human activity, which from the beginning of the industrial revolution has put a cross on the further existence of mankind and the world in whole. And a third is two previous together, i.e we can consider global warming as a natural process, accelerated by human activities (industry). And even if we know the ways to solve this problem, it seems to me, that we are not up to the end understand how they can be applied in practice. The developing countries are able to adapt to reduced power consumption and the pace’s reduction of industry; but the developed countries are not. Because they’re based on industry, everything is based on the technique in such countries. That’s why it’s unlikely that they’re able to adapt to the «proper way of life». And if they can, then where is the guarantee that everything will fall into place?! As it’s not the nature which submits to us, but we submit to it!

I think that global warming is a real problem and that it will have devastating consequences for life on Earth. This film helps to understand it. Climate change is a reality. Today, our world is hotter than it was before. By the end of the century, if current trends continue, the global temperature will likely climb even higher.This will have serious consequences for ecosystems, growing seasons, animals and their habitats. There may also be more intense and frequent extreme weather events. I think we should realize it and start doing something to prevent and restrain the effects of global warming. For example, we can use alternative energy, plant trees, fly less (though it is very difficult) and even eat more vegetarian food. It is better to do something than not at all.

Nowadays the number of such films is getting increase because people begin to recognize that our world in a big trouble. Film shows and tells us about what is going on. Global warming influence the Earth more and more and we, people living here, do nothing to stop destroying the planet. Our activity brings only harm to the nature, we try to show that we are better and can more than nature, but it is not true. We have a chance live on this perfect planet but not destroy it. Why do not people see that the environmental problem is a greatly important now? It would be better to stop using cars, for example. To continue live on the Earth we should help it to become as it was before us. I do not talk about stop using stuff of civilization but try to use them without harm to nature. We have no much time to recognize the problem because in some years it becomes impossible to change anything.

Truly speaking there is not any new information for me in the film. It’s a very nice movie about nowadays problems of mankind. Global warming is real. It exists. As it result many cities like Washington, Florida, Miami and other will be under water. It can be because of the rising of the water. The Pacific Ocean has changed its direction which leads to the other climate. In this case we may say that the future doesn’t look good. But, as for me, I’m an optimist.
ReplyDeleteIt’s an open secret that years ago there were much more places which were covered with ice than today. For example there is a place in Alaska where the snow valley used to be, but today this place is covered by water which makes a lake. So, there is a remaking the world in a very dangerous ways. Alaska is not a unique example.
All climate changes are results of cooperation between carbon dioxides and atmosphere oxygen. The Official Laboratory in Colorado which studies snow reports that there are large changes in two past decades. It shows that something much more fundamental hiding in the climate system now.
There is another theory why it becomes hotter and hotter year by year. Every thousand years the Earth orbit becomes slightly more elliptical. There is a process which is called poles displacement.
The other problem is the frequency of fires. It produces CO2 and makes ground useless for growing plants, fruits and vegetables. Also there is an example in China where decades for decades farmer lands change into desert. There are areas where can be that there is no rain for years.
It’s a fact that concentration of CO2 in atmosphere higher than past 60 thousand years. But at the same time, greenhouse effect makes our Planet warmer. Without it the temperature will be 60 C colder. By the way, death leaves, during their decomposition produce CO2. Peat has been changed into coal under the certain temperature.
Lots of populations are on the verge of extinction. Bears don’t have enough time to find much more food to prepare their organisms to winter; they are starving, because the cold climate lasts less that it used to last. There is a scientist in the scientific film about the nature, who has made a prediction that if this problem isn’t be solved he will be the last searcher who is working under that population.
There are lots of people who suppose that hurricanes have connection with climate. They are absolutely right. Strong winds start to form separately in different parts of the planet, but mixing of cold and warm makes a storm or a hurricane stronger and more powerful.
In conclusion I’d like to say that people strongly depend of climate, we are guests on the Earth. Our factories, plants, nuclear weapons, wild wars and other things change our home greatly. We have to use other materials not to pollute the atmosphere. We are to protect wild nature from our interference there. And if we want to use the Earth as a source of anything, we have to give it something too.
To my mind, all these problems are important. One causes the other. We are clever? So we have a chance to prove it.
